ISN Board Member in the SPOTLIGHT
Joshua de Groot
Dear all! As some of you already know, my name is Joshua de Groot and I'm the Introduction Coordinator of ISN Amsterdam. This means that it is my job to plan, organize and implement two amazing introduction weeks for the upcoming winter and summer internationals. If you've participated in the introduction week yourself, you will know how big of a task this is!
The best thing about working for ISN: First of all, I would say meeting all kinds of new people! Secondly, working for ISN gives me the opportunity to give something back to the internationals. One year ago I did my exchange in Barcelona and had an amazing ESN time. With this in mind I will try to make the best out of everyone's exchange.
Favorite place in Amsterdam: It's hard to say that I only have 1 favorite place. My favorite places are the Vondelpark for relaxing with friends and the Begijnhof for its history and silent atmosphere.
Favorite travel destination: Chili! As you may tell I'm not completely Dutch. My mother is from Antofagasta, which is located in the north of Chili. An amazing city with great many beaches at its coast.
Wishes to study abroad: If I could choice I would definitely consider Barcelona again. But right now I would say Santiago de Chili so I can improve my Spanish and travel around in South-America.
Marketing Association Amsterdam
Lustrum Kick Off Conference

Royal Tropical Institute
€7,50 (with ESN Card)
Are you interested in doing something different during your exchange? Are you interested in marketing, communication, consultancy, entrepreneurship or business in general? If so, we would like to invite you to the Lustrum Kick Off Conference of the MAA (Marketing Association Amsterdam).
Top speakers from the world of marketing (Heineken, LinkedIn and Boodschapp) will inspire you with fascinating talks about the past, present and future of marketing. Interactive sessions with partners (Copernica, Heineken and Smart PR) are organized, where you can learn more about your own (internship) possibilities. The evening will finish with a nice ‘’borrel’’ including three drinks.
Usually, the event costs €10 for non-members. However, you only pay €7,50 if you are an ESN Card holder. Get tickets at our office or online. Find the Facebook event here.
