The lessons are once a week for seven weeks (no lessons between the 20th and the 24th of October) in the late afternoon from 16:30 till 18:00. Exchange Party: Opening Party

Saturday, the 20th of September

Today is Monday, which many people experience as the worst day of the week. But no worries, because in only five days, the Exchange Party takes place! The Exchange party is the biggest international student party in Amsterdam, since the UvA, HvA, VU and InHolland are all participating. There will be multiple exchange Parties this year and we'll kick off the year with the Opening Party in Panama. If you didn't get your ticket yet, hurry to our office!

Panama is a club, theater & restaurant founded in March 2001. The building was previously used to generate electricity for the harbor located in the Oostelijk Havengebied. The internationally renowned English dance magazine DJ MAG called Panama out to be one of the best clubs in Europe (#36 in the top 50 chosen by 600 international DJ's). Panama also invites organizations to host events, which makes it a perfect spot for the Exchange Parties to take place! (and you might remember it from the amazing Eurodiner during the introduction week)

See you in Panama at the Opening Party!

Boom Chicago

Comedy Club

Rozengracht 117

Boom Chicago is a comedy club located in the center of Amsterdam. The comedians performing here are from all over the world, which means that every comedy show is in English (how convenient!). They do stand-up comedy as well as shows. The club states these to be ''an exhilarating mix of sharp writing, clever improvisation, music and video". So are you looking for a relaxed night, filled with laughter and controversies, during which you can have a drink? Check out the website to see what's coming up. Make sure that you buy you tickets on time, because their shows are quite popular! Use your ESN card to get some nice discounts:)

The show 7 Deadly Dutch Sins introduces the Netherlands in an exciting way. The comedians have lived in the Netherlands for a while and observed some interesting behaviors during their stay. They will show you a funny perspective on cultural peculiarities and the Dutch psyche. Performing on the 16th and the 26th of September, the 3rd of October and throughout the rest of the year.

Greg Shapiro presents: Desiree Burch. This woman's show ''52 man pickup'' tells the story about Ms. Bunch's love life by letting the audience pick cards, each leading to a story about a hilarious and uncensored male encounter. She will perform at Boom Chicago at the 30th of September. Keep an eye on our Facebook page, as ISN will offer you a special deal!

Introducing ISN:

The Career Committee

Meet our girls Wiebke, Shirley, Trang and Bo, forming the Career Committee. This ISN committee is brand new, which is very exciting because they will have to start everything from scratch. Their goal is to find job opportunities for graduated international students in the Netherlands. They will also organize events and workshops concerning valuable professional skills. Keep updated and find out what the Career Committee can do for you!

Student of the Week: Noah Browne (far right on the picture)

This week’s student of the week has survived hurricanes, played squash against some of the best players in the world and, most impressively, has never missed a single Borrel. Noah Browne comes from Bermuda, a tiny island in the Carribean, but has gone to school in the United States. In Amsterdam, he has proved himself a easy-going student who knows how to party but is dead serious where it comes to sport. We wish you all the best in taking over the Dutch squash scene, Noah!
