Social Erasmus Project
Christmas is almost here: finally some days off, nice weather to stay inside and cuddle, and time off to spend with your family and friends. However, for some of you Christmas also marks the end of your exchange in Amsterdam, which means that is time to go back home. Because we know how awful and almost impossible it is for you to fit everything you got here in your luggage, Social Erasmus is collecting all those things that will not fit in your bag to be sold for a good cause. We will be collecting clothes and other articles (they must be in good shape) next week from the 1st to the 5th of December at our CREA office (Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 13:00-17:00 Thursday from 11:00 – 15:00). The money collected from the sale will be used to sponsor the
Vooruit Project.

De Hallen
Hannie Dankbaar Passage 33

De Hallen is situated in a large building in the Kinkerbuurt where the first electric trams were serviced back in the 1900s. After some renovating, the building is now used for various purposes, such as a library, a cafe, a hotel,  a movie theater, a craft center and much more. Once in a while, a Local Goods Market will take place on Saturdays. At this market, you fill find interesting goods (food and non-food) produced in the area of Amsterdam. Read more about De Hallen and upcoming events on their website.

When you live in Amsterdam
After a few months of living in Amsterdam, you probably found out about the do’s and dont’s and the good things and the bad things about living here. Check out this blog and see if you can recognize any of these situations. If you can, you may call yourself a true Amsterdammer.

Students (!) of the week: Michelle Rorich & Lera Kuznetsova
You read it right: this week we have not one but two students of the week! Lovely Michelle (South Africa) and Lera (Australia) journeyed 660 km to Berlin in eight different cars. At one point the driver dropped them off at the German border. They thought they were in the Netherlands and that they still had to cross over to Germany. They walked a few kilometers across a meadow in the middle of nowhere to cross the border. After having crossed they ran into the same driver that had brought them there who informed them they had just walked back into The Netherlands! Despite this blunder they found another lift and were the first ones to arrive in Berlin, proving their mettle and resourcefulness. This achievement, along with their loyal attendance of ISN borrels serves as their ticket into the hall of fame as the first duo students of the week.
