Sinterklaas Dinner with Refugee Children

Dear volunteers, get ready for another round of events in December! Do you want to spend an afternoon making a child feel special, while participating in an authentic Dutch tradition? Then this is perfect for you!

Five international volunteers will entertain a group of refugee children from Africa and Middle-East, dressed as Sinterklaas’ favorite helper, chimney-sweep make-up Piet (not black make-up Piet)! In costume and make-up, you will play, dance, and unpack small gifts with the children, after which all of us will have dinner, while enjoying some authentic live Syrian music. Each volunteer will entertain a group of about ten refugee children.

The event will take place on December 4th at Macy’s Harlemmermeerstation, Amstelveenseweg 266, 1075 XV Amsterdam. You will get a reminder and route instructions a few days before the event. Please get there at 16:30, to have your make-up done and to put your costume on. The event will begin at 18:30, and last until around 20:30-21:00.
