What is Erasmus in Schools?
Erasmus in Schools is a project that offers the perfect opportunity to learn about other cultures and to teach about your own. Together with an ISN board or committee member and your fellow international students, you will visit a school in Amsterdam, where you will be able to interact with the students and tell about your culture, country and the cultural differences that you have come across so far. All while participating in the Dutch society.
What can I do?
There are two ways for you to get involved in this project:
One of the schools we cooperate with is the IMC Weekendschool. This school teaches kids between the age of 10 – 14 about professions and introduces them to the world of work. They are always looking for people to help during classes or excursions and interact with the children. It’s a great way for you to get in touch with local kids and have a fun and educational day!
We are currently setting up events with high schools in Amsterdam as well, in which you would get to go to a school and help during a class, for example in your native language, to teach and inspire the high school students.
Who can join?
Anyone who is enthusiastic about the project, open to other cultures and dares to take initiative in talking to the Dutch students, is welcome to join! For some events at the high schools, however, a specific language will be needed.
Any questions? Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or keep an eye on our Facebook or our very own SocialErasmus Facebook group!
Great news! You can now apply for our project Erasmus in Schools at the IMC Weekendschool! The dates of the events will be announced as soon as possible.
(attention: this application is solely for IMC WeekendSchool, NOT daily Erasmus in Schools events!)
We hope to see you soon!
