PRESIDENT: My name is Julia Robeer, I am 22 years old and I study European Studies. I have studied in Valencia myself and learned a lot from this experience and met some great people. As the president of the ISN Amsterdam Board. I am ready to make your stay in Amsterdam as good as or even better than my own time abroad has been. Since you have already chosen one of the best cities in the world, I am sure this won’t be that difficult of a task. Me and the rest of the board are really looking forward to contribute to your exchange this year. I hope to meet you all soon at our events!

TREASURER: My name is Nikki Veerman, I am 22 years old and a student at the University of Amsterdam. I studied Future Planet Studies majoring in Political science. This year I will do a minor in macro-economics and I will be the Treasurer of ISN! I know Dutch people are supposed to be giants but you will recognize me by being the exception (despite me walking on high heels all the time). I’m really excited to meet all of you and I look forward to an amazing year!

SECRETARY: My name is Kallista Kemink (and I’m not offended if people need time to remember this ridiculous name) and I am this year’s Secretary. I am studying at the UvA: a Masters degree in the Psychology of Health Behavior. I’m born and raised in Amsterdam and I still live here. Obviously, I love this city and I’m sure you guys will feel the same way after your exchange! In the spring of 2013, I studied in Copenhagen for six months. Besides having the best time of my life, this made me realize that I actually love traveling and getting to know different places and people from different nationalities. Last year, I joined the activities committee of ISN where I helped organizing events. Since I enjoyed being in the international vibe in my own city so much, I decided to become an ISN board member. I hope to see you all soon!

INTEGRATION COORDINATOR: My name is Maxime. I am currently studying political science with a minor in conflict studies. After high school I decided it was time to spread my wings and ended up studying in America for a year. This was probably the best decision of my life, as will hopefully also be the case for your decisions to come here. As your Integration Coordinator I hope I can provide you with long lasting friendships that will make you want to travel back to the lowlands plenty of times. Let’s make your stay memorable!

INTRODUCTION COORDINATOR: My name is Joshua de Groot, 22 years old and I’m the new Introduction Coordinator of ISN Amsterdam. It is my job to get you started in experiencing what might very well be the time of your life. And I'm not just saying that, I know what I’m talking about! I’ve spent my time abroad in Barcelona and enjoyed every moment of my stay there. I’m happy to inform you that you’ve ended up in a great city yourself! Here you will experience a new culture, see amazing things, party hard, and above all, make new long-life friends and memories. Make the most of it, and I’ll see you around!

INTRODUCTION COORDINATOR: My name is Karin, I am 22 years old and studying at the HVA to become an economics teacher. I am going to be one of the Introduction Coordinators this year, and I hope that Joshua and I can make the start of your exchange in Amsterdam unforgettable. As somebody from outsite Amsterdam I know how it feels to fall in love with the city, and I hope you can also experience this feeling! I hope to meet you all soon at our ‘borrels’ and events to get to know you and your backgrounds more.

ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR: My name is Lydia. I am a musicology student at the UvA. I will be the activities coordinator this year. I am very excited to provide you with fun events and trips that will make your exchange period extra memorable. I did an Erasmus semester in Northern Ireland. This was an awesome experience, because of the great people I met and all the fun events organized for international students. I hope you also have an awesome experience here in Amsterdam and that ISN can contribute to this.

PR & FUNDING COORDINATOR: My name’s Marley Hasselbach and I’m a third year student focusing on communication at Amsterdam University College. I recently returned from an exchange program in Hong Kong, and am excited about bringing some Asian energy and creativity to the new board! As PR & Funding Coordinator, it will be my goal to promote ISN to the outside world, and also to bring in funds to make our events even more of a success. All to your benefit, of course!
